Corporate CASHES Policy Statemen
The management of TRISAC LIMITED in view of the sensitive nature of work in the Oil and Gas Industry, hereby in this CASHES Policy state as follows:
- That Management is fully committed to the administration and enforcement of CASHES standard in all our operations.
- That CASHES is as important as any other aspect of our main stream business operation, it must be given priority attention. That CASHES is a line / sectional responsibility.
- That everyone is responsible for their own safety and their colleague’s safety at work sites.
- That we shall observe all laid down safety at work and environment in all the statue books of the federal Republic of Nigeria.
- That safety will not be compromise when carrying out any activity. The safety and the health of our workers, protection of the environment and the security of workers and equipment must be accorded priority attention in our entire work site.
- That company will respect the culture and tradition of the host community and involve itself in the affairs of the community as much as is practically possible. A very significant portion of the work force on site will be from the host community.
- That enough resources will be set aside for CASHES management in the company.
- Regular training of staff on various aspects of CASHES management will be accorded priority attention at all times.
- That we shall encourage and motivate our employees by recognizing good CASHES performance among employees through CASHES awards.
- That adequate disciplinary action will be taken against employees for flagrant violation or regular breach of CASHES rules.
- To implement the above policy, work will not commence until all CASHES issues are satisfied. Every employee should report to their supervisor if they believe that any act or condition is contrary to the company CASHES policy.
Community Affairs Policy
It is our policy to establish and maintain cordial and healthy relationship with our host
community. The company shall:
- Co-exist and co-operate with communities to achieve common Company / Community objectives.
- Maintain on open communication channel with host community leaders and youths.
- Carry out all work activities with damages to the community environment reduced to the barest minimum.
- Inform communities of job operations on their land obtain work permit and ensure safety of field crew and equipment.
- Employ unskilled labour work force from the host community.
- Respects and adhere to all norms and traditions of communities in areas of operations.
- Ensure health and security of employed work force and equipment during operations in the community.
- Assist our host communities in education and other self-help development projects that will offer improved standard of living to members of our host communities.
- Make available our site clinics to members of our host communities in cases of emergency.
- Conduct in-house assessment of the level of relationship we have with our host communities and seek ways of improvement.
Health Policy
TRISAC LIMITED considers the health of her staff paramount importance at all times especially during operations and execution of projects. Projects shall be planned to ensure and maintain the Health of staff, contractors, and other third parties involved in the execution of our projects.
The Company shall ensure this by:
- Employing the services of retainer ship clinics to care for the health of her staff.
- Employ the services of a qualified registered nurse to attend to staff in the office and field camps.
- Ensure that all employees have undergone physical health examination prior to working.
- Ensure medical fitness of cooks and all food handlers catering for staff in the field camps.
- Ensure proper and adequate placement of property, first-aid boxes and ensuring that location and accessibility of these boxes are known to all personnel.
- Training cashes officers, safety officers on the act of administering first-aid.
- Ensuring proper medivac operations are put in place.
Environmental Policy
TRISAC LIMITED shall execute all her projects with minimal adverse impact on the environment and also maintain the ecosystem based on the principles of the sustainable developments.
The Company shall:
- Integrate all environmental considerations into our business planning and decisions making processes.
- Comply with all applicable legal regulatory requirements.
- Identify, access and manage environmental risks associated with our operations to eliminate or reduce the likelihood of adverse consequences.
- Ensure that wastes are properly segregated and disposed.
Transport Policy
TRISAC LIMITED plans her journeys towards a safe and timely execution of her projects. The
Company shall ensure that:
- All drivers and vehicles shall have current and valid driving licenses, registration and particulars.
- Drivers must obey all traffic regulations to ensure safety of self and passengers as well as condition of the vehicle.
- All movement or travelling must be logged and monitored.
- Authorization of movement and maintenance of medium of travel shall be defined at the engineering base or site by resident construction supervisor
- No conveyance of personnel is permitted in open trucks or machinery.
- We prohibit travelling after 18.00hrs during our operations for safety and security of staff and equipment.
- Company has in place procedure and checklist to ensure safe conveyance of staff to their destination.
Security Policy
It is TRISAC LIMITED policy to ensure the security of her staff, contractors, third parties and assets during all operations in order to eliminate loss of materials, and to eliminate injuries to personnel and property.
This will be ensured by:
- Appointing a security officer to oversee all security matters.
- Recruiting camp security men from host communities.
- Take all necessary steps to conduct all activities in a peaceful environment.
- Where disturbance exists, inform the clients immediately.
- Immediate evacuation of all personnel where disturbance becomes a threat to life.
- Enforcing and maintaining a high information security standard.
- All documented information shall remain in safe custody of the Company and her clients.
- Open a security hazard register and hold weekly preview meetings on security matters.
- Restrict the use of uninformed personnel to the barest minimum i.e. around Houseboats or camp site accommodation.
- Access to site, base and fabrication location being granted to those eligible.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy
TRISAC LIMITED places a high degree of importance towards the safety of all employees during the execution of all projects and thus will ensure that:
- Jobs are planned for safe execution without injury, lost time incident or fatalities.
- Jobs are planned such that field crew members are equipped with the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the safe execution of their job.
- Staffs are enlightened on the importance and use of PPE through safety briefing, Pep talks and CASH meetings.
Alcohol and Drugs
Alcohol and Drugs (either hard or un-prescribed) are considered dangerous to the health of
staff and members of the Company.
- The Company does not provide alcohol beverages in camp and also prohibits their use either at work sites, camps or in the office.
- Consumption of alcohol during working hours is strictly prohibited.
Drugs
- The Company prohibits the use of drugs not prescribed by a physician and always refers its staff to our retainer’s clinics.
Emergency Response Policy
TRISAC LIMITED attaches very high importance to emergency response to check incidents
from escalating. This will be achieved by ensuring the following:
- A register shall be kept on all personnel to monitor movement of personnel and visitors.
- In the event of an emergency, CASHES Officers and Supervisors shall take immediate responsibility for the safety of all personnel.
- CASHES Officers/Supervisors shall sound the alarm and all personnel shall respond by immediately moving down to their muster points.
- TRISAC LIMITED procedure on Emergency response shall be followed strictly.
- Emergency drills shall be carried out at unscheduled intervals to determine response.
- TRISAC LIMITED shall provide appropriate facilities, procedures and training for coordinated action to maintain readiness at all times.
- Emergency responses are directed towards lifesaving, protection and limitation of damage to environment and assets.
Cashes Policy Target
The purpose of this CASHES Policy, in accordance with the preceding policy statements is to describe the various ways and means that will be employed to minimize or eliminate the various losses that could occur during execution of projects, to promulgate procedures for recovery in the event that such losses occur, and to provide procedures for plan review and revision to account for and benefit from occurrences.
These losses and the relevant sections of this plan describing control could include:
- Personal physical injury or sickness.
- Material or equipment damage.
- Property and environmental damage.
